Your future cant be amazing.

Just because your past may not have been perfect, doesnt mean that your FUTURE cant be amazing.

What if today you chose to change?

What if you never do it? What then? When is the point going to arrive for you that it’s got to happen, now? Too often the answer is when it’s too late; when life whacks us around the face with something that’s too big and heavy to ignore; something that forces us to change direction whether we like it or not.

As human beings we’re really amazing at running with life as it is until it breaks. We keep on going in ‘hum-drum’,we keep on living with ‘this’ll do for now’, we ignore the whispers of our soul telling us that life could be a little bit better.

Life is full of uncertainty. It can seem like we have all the time in the world, then when the ‘OH CRAP’ moment falls, you’re forced to see how much time you’ve wasted.

Whatever your IT is; whatever the thing is that your soul is calling you to do, whether a tiny change to bring you more joy or a life shift to set your world in a different direction… You’re already ready!

There is a part of you that knows you’re ready. That part of you has been ready your whole life, that part of you is waiting for you to listen to the truth that there is no reason to stay small, be unhappy, lose who you really are — you can follow your inspiration, your goals and dreams anytime you choose.

You can choose to BE different, choose differently — every minute of every day.

There’s no reason to follow the old patterns that are keeping you from where, who and what you want to be.

I remember a time, a few years ago, when a very dear friend was in hospital.

I was in a period of change.

I wanted to change, I was desperate to change, but I wasn’t changing anything. My work was driving me slowly mad. I was getting resentful and angry most days, and I knew I had something bigger, something better in me that wanted to be made real.

Now, hospitals are (I find) a place of either full on honesty, or full on lies; and on this day, it was a day of honesty. As I sat there talking around in circles, yet again, of all the things I was planning on doing, everything I wanted to shift, everything I was meaning to do… my friend said, “you’ve been talking about this for so long now Cat, when are you actually going to do it?”

Now, most times those words would have just fallen off my shoulders and not hit home. But on that day, sitting there at a hospital bed, I realized that my friend probably wasn’t going to live long enough to see me make it happen, and that knowledge rocked me to my soul.

My friend was the bravest person I’d ever met. This wasn’t her first battle with cancer and yet she still lived with the attitude of “None of us are getting out of this life alive, so we’d better make the most of it”. Sadly, she only saw a few of the changes I wanted to make come into the world. I hope and believe that she knows now what I’ve achieved already, but knowing her, she’s still up there, telling me I’m taking too long and I should just get a move on.

Right here, right now, in this life… this is where we are. This is where we need to decide to change, right now.

Everything has at its fundamental level a choice. You are the co-creator of your life by the decisions you make NOW… TODAY! Just as you’ve created where you are today by the decisions and actions that you’ve taken before.

If you’re not where you want to be; if life’s not pointing you in the direction where you want to go. If you can feel your soul guiding you to do something differently; then choose to change.

Imagine your life 6 months from now. Shoot your thoughts forward half a year, and imagine that your life is exactly as it is right now. You’re still doing the same things you are now. You’re still frustrated at exactly the same old stuff.

If your life now is empty, boring or unfulfilling, then imagine how that will feel in yet another 6 months from now.

Now, shake off that gloomy thought, and get cracking with making sure that DOESN’T HAPPEN. Acknowledge all the things you no longer want to see in your life, and make choices that will eventually let them go. Reflect on what you want to see more of, and decide to embrace every small opportunity that will build your momentum toward those things.

This is the day, right here right now, when the flag gets put in the sand and you declare…

Today, you’re going to choose to change!
