How about detoxing your kidneys, strengthening your heart and looking after your joints at the same time? Celery juice can do just that.

Celery is a fantastic superfood (even though not the most obvious one) and provides incredible health benefits to your entire body. Moreover, celery has anti-cancer properties, which not only prevent cancer but may also help to stop the growth of tumor cells. So, if you are not a big lover of celery, it is high time to reconsider! It is considered to be one of the most nutritious foods ever, but in order to get the maximum benefits from this incredible vegetable, the best options are either eating it raw or…simply juicing it.

Drinking celery juice regularly is a natural and safe way to detox your kidneys and get healthier – highly alkalizing and hydrating, many nutrients contained in fresh celery are an amazing booster for your overall health.  Celery leaves are rich in Vitamin A and the root is high in Vitamins B1,B2,B6, and Vitamin C.  It is a brilliant source of calcium, potassium, folic acid, essential amino acids, and phosphorous.

Celery is very high in antioxidants such as quercetin and phenolic acids, which prevent oxidative stress and inflammation. It is widely used in the treatment of joint pains, high blood pressure, and problems with the nervous system.Inflammatory diseases like arthritis, osteoporosis, gout and even asthma respond well to a regular use of the celery juice while the phthalide contained in celery is believed to help lower LDL cholesterol for better heart health. Plus, it is high in Vitamin K which is incredibly important for your skin elasticity. Excited? Get juicing!

Here is a fabulous simple smoothie recipe for you to get started.

You will need:

  • 3 large organic celery stalks
  • 2 slices of pineapple
  • 3 sprigs of parsley

Preparation:

Wash your pineapple, celery, and parsley and chop them up. Put all of the ingredients in a blender, add a bit of water and… Blend! You may wish to add more water if the mixture is too thick, or maybe even coconut milk; try adding nuts or oats to your smoothie to make a healthy snack, or maybe you may wish to throw in a banana for a bit of sweetness –  get creative and try what works for you! Have a cup of your wonderful healthy smoothie/mix twice a day (morning + evening) for a week and start feeling healthier and happier!

P.S. Oh, and celery also helps to increase sex drive because it is a natural aphrodisiac…
