5 Tell Tale Signs That You Aren’t Living Your True Purpose in Life
Are you feeling that you’re far away from your true purpose in life?
It seems like lately we get so caught up in or jobs that we just don’t give ourselves the time to really pursue our real dreams. We are so focused on our careers and progressing that our passions get pushed aside and forgotten about.
Here are some tell tale signs that you aren’t living your true purpose in life, and how you can repair the damage.
1. You never put yourself first
Putting other people first is a valuable trait, and it is important in the world of work to sometimes put others in front of yourself in order to get something done. But when it get to the point where you are never doing anything for yourself, it has done too far.
How to fix it: Take some time for yourself, take a long bath, do something that you really enjoy, and allow yourself to be selfish. Remind yourself that you are important too.
2. You are too focused on your failures
It is very easy to focus on our failures and put ourselves down. Whilst it is true that we learn from our failures and not our successes, we should not focus solely on what we have done wrong.
How to fix it: Look at the positive aspects of what you have achieved. Look at how successful you have been until this point and be proud of the things that you have achieved and tell yourself that you are capable of succeeding further.
3. You aren’t enjoying yourself
A key sign that we aren’t living our true purpose is not gaining happiness from our achievements or our job.
How to fix it: Find something you enjoy doing, and go with it. Start a new project that you enjoy working on, and celebrate the achievements you’ve made in other areas.
4. You don’t feel happy
Happiness is so important, but it’s also something that is so easy to sacrifice. You can persuade yourself that you are happy in the routine that you are in, but if you truly are not happy, you’ll know it.
How to fix it: Take some time out and do something that makes you happy. Surround yourself with your friends and family, and open up about what it is that’s making you unhappy. Break the cycle, and create one that you enjoy.
5. You’re too afraid to take risks
When taking a risk is a success, it’s guaranteed to make you feel like you’re working towards your life’s true purpose. If you’re too afraid to take risks, then you aren’t going to feel fulfilled in the things you’re doing.
How to fix it: Go with your gut. Take a little risk at first, and then see how it pans out. If you’re successful then keep trying; the chances are that at this point you know what you’re doing, and you know what will be best. Trust yourself, and enjoy your success.
