Letters from Your Soul: On Loving Your Pain Away
You were raised to believe that pain is something you need to run away from, something you should avoid and be ashamed of. But I tell you that pain, just like all the other positive and blissful emotions that you are so found of, needs to be felt.
It demands to be felt!
There will be moments in your life when pain will come knocking at your door, moments when it will want your undivided love and attention. And when that happens, I want you to welcome it as you would welcome a life long friend. Why? Because pain has the power to point out the things that are out of balance in your life, the things that keep you from living your live in alignment with your Soul and life purpose. And if you learn to work with it instead of working against it, it will help you carve through the rough walls that had been imprisoning the real you for all of these years, and it will help you free yourself from the dark, cold and fearful world you have been living.
Instead of living your life from a place of Light, Love and Integrity, you became enslaved by all your fears, doubts and limitations, and you started hiding yourself from yourself; you started hiding yourself from the world around you. And the pain you are now feeling is the pain that comes from living unaligned with your Soul, unaligned with Source, and unaligned with the Truth of who you are.
“Through Love all that is bitter will be sweet, Through Love all that is copper will be gold, Through Love all dregs will become wine, through Love all pain will turn to medicine.” ~ Rumi
Pain is not meant to hurt you. It is not meant to make you feel unhappy, lost alone and helpless. On the contrary. Pain is meant to help you return Home – back to yourself, and back to being all that life created you to be. And if you learn to treat it with love, respect and compassion, it will help you cleanse yourself of yourself. And it will teach you how to free you from all those fearful thoughts, ideas, attachments, beliefs and limitations that kept you unaligned with Source, and unaligned with the Truth of who you are for all these years so that you can live the life you came here to live. So Love your pain away.
