Some Brutally Honest Things Women Turning 40 Want All Women In Their 30s To Know
Turning 40 in less than a month. Forty is a very important age for most people, as, growing up, we tend to think of forty as the age until which we will have settled. A forty year old woman, reaching the scary age, thought of all the things she would have wanted someone to tell her at 30, so she could make some choices differently. Here are the things she learnt.
Love yourself
Cliche as it may sound, the first is the most important advice. Loving and accepting your self the way she is makes you avoid many wrong decisions.
Feed your soul
Don’t let go of the things that you are passionate about. Do what you enjoy most in life.
Get yourself a support network
You cannot do everything alone. Friends, people you trust, are important, as a safety net, as a shoulder to cry on, as a source of rational advice. Nobody gets through life alone!
Be authentic
It may be hard, but try to let go of your mask. We all have one. It may work as a protection, but you need to show what is really happening with you: if you keep everything inside, it will burst.
Live for yourself
You cannot make everyone happy, and most importantly you don’t have too. Without saying that you should stop caring about other people, remember that the person who you are with at the end of the day is always yourself, and this is for whose happiness you should struggle.
Don’t compromise too much
It is a different thing to learn to co-exist, and a different thing to let go of your needs. While you compromise, your life passes by….
Travel as much as possible
You can always cut back on material things (we all have more than we need) and try to save up some money to travel. Youth gives you a flexibility that you will sorely miss.
Worry less
Anxiety makes life shorter and more bitter. Overthinking never helped anybody!
Stop comparing
There is always someone who will be better at something than you are.
Forget expectations
Prince Charming isn’t on his way. Live for the moment and for what you hope that will come!
Don’t Work to live
Getting stuck in a job you hate is the most common cause of misery in contemporary worlds. Your job will be a big part of what you do, so make sure it is something that makes you passionate.
Save for the unexpected
You cannot always predict what you will need in life, or what will come up
Be prepared!
